Promote unity for progress-Chiefs urged

Nana Paul Baidoo, Gyaasehene of Odumase Number One Traditional Area in the Sunyani West District, has advised traditional rulers to do more to unite and mobilize their people for both community and national development.

He expressed worry that the hitherto noble chieftaincy institution, is the cause of rivalries, bitter family feuds in certain areas saying that this only undermined the unity and peace needed for community development.

Nana Baidoo was speaking at a ceremony to enstool Mr. Frank Kwabena Obiri Oppong, a Stool Lands Administrator for Northern Region, as the Krontihene of Odumase No. One at Odumase.

The 43 year old new Krontihene, with the stool name Osabirma Kwabena Yeboah Ababio, inherited his late uncle Nana Obiri Yeboah who died 15 years ago.

Nana Baidoo asked traditional rulers, particularly those in the area to always shun discrimination and exhibit love and compassion for their subjects as an encouragement towards the progress of their communities.
