Farmer, 38, butchers two family members

A 38-year-old farmer, Tetteh Djaba, has been arrested by the New Juaben Municipal Police Command for butchering two members of his family over suspicion of water poisoning.

The victims, Abena Rose, 58 and Dede Grace, 45, who sustained deep machete wounds, have been sent to the Koforidua Government Hospital for emergency care.

An eyewitness told Starr News that the suspect accused the victims of poisoning his drinking water stored in the house with the intention to kill him after smelling a strange scent in his drinking water.

The witness explained that, the suspect became furious and attacked the victims inflicting the machete wounds on them.

They were, however, saved by residents in the area and rushed to the Hospital for treatment.

The suspect was subsequently arrested by the Police.

The New Juaben Municipal Police Commander, Superintendent Richardson Kumeko, who confirmed the story to Starr News added that the suspect is under interrogation while samples of the suspected poisoned water has been taken to the laboratory for tests.
