Science lab opens for pupils in Bosomtwe

The Light Year Foundation, an educational charity in collaboration with Ignite the founders of Lab 13 UK has constructed a science laboratory for pupils in the Bosomtwe District in the Ashanti Region.

The laboratory dubbed ‘Lab 13’ which allows pupils to experiment with learning materials is the second project to be constructed by the group in the district.

The science laboratory built on the campus of Solid Hope Basic School will not only serve pupils in the school but will also serve pupils from other private schools and selected public schools within the district.

Speaking to Ultimate news, one of the Scientists in Residence (SIR) in charge of the facility, Victor Okwokwo explained that the establishment of the facility is to promote a more practical approach to the teaching and learning of science in Ghana especially at the basic level.

The Director of Education for Bosomtwe District, Madam Augustina Konadu-Yiadom remarked that the lab, just like the previous one established in the district would go a long way to advance teaching and learning within the district.
