A group of irate youth is on rampage at the Tamale West Hospital demanding the removal of the hospital administrator.
According to the youth, Madam Alice Tenga’s reign is making the hospital unpopular among the locals in the region.
The youth, who described themselves as the Concerned Group of Tamale West Hospital, said patients are unhappy with services within the hospital to the extent that they have to buy drugs from “pharmacies outside the hospital.”
They also alleged on Monday that the hospital has not been able to pay its staff “for well over four months” through internally generated funds.
They claim Tenga has a “bad working relationship with the staff of the hospital” and must be sacked.
“Based on the key issues aforementioned, we are left with no choice except to demand the immediate removal from post, at least to say if the problems still persist unresolved,” they said.
Officials of the hospital are yet to respond to the issue, but the police have moved to the scene to keep law and order.
