Pastor Chris crusade: Police thank public

The Accra Regional Police Commander, COP George Akuffo Dampare, has expressed gratitude to the general public for their cooperation during a crusade by the Christ Embassy Church.

The Night of Bliss, with the General Overseer of the Church, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, as main speaker, witnessed thousands of individuals, who converged on the Black Star Square on Friday 6 February, 2016.

Various roads in the capital were closed to motor traffic and the commander has showed gratitude for an incident-free event, thanks to the support of the public.

In a press release by the police, the commander said: “The situation, which caused a lot of inconvenience to the good people of Accra ended with no casualty recorded.”

He said the “involvement of the police was a constitutional mandate of maintaining law and order and protecting lives and properties”.

The commander also assured that “it shall continue to take steps that are necessary in public places to assist in the proper conduct of events for the preservation of public order”.
