Abudus vow to repeat 2002 clashes

The Abudu Family in the Dagbon conflict has threatened to repeat the clashes that happened in 2002 leading to the assassination of their overlord Yaa Naa Yakubu Andani.

The Abudus embarked on a peaceful demonstration on Thursday to compel the John Mahama administration and the Asantehene-led committee of eminent persons to grant them access to the Gbewaa Palace.

The huge crowd chanted songs of belligerence on the streets of Yendi, according to Starr News’ Eliasu Tanko.

The family said the committee has been unfair towards them and is demanding access to the old Gbewaa Palace for the performance of the funeral rites of their late royal Naa Abudulai Mahamadu IV.

The MCE of Yendi Issah Zakaria received the petition of the family and thanked the people for their calm composure and law abiding attitude during the street procession.
