Teenager detained for alleged theft cases

A teenager, who allegedly stole a total of GH?1,655.00 from two mission houses at Dedeso in the Fanteakwa District, has been arrested and handed over to the assembly member.

There is no police station in the Dedesawirako Electoral Area. The nearest police station is 17 miles to Begoro.

Nartey Kietey, a basic school drop-out, in December stole GH?455.00 from the Apostolic Church of Ghana Mission House and on another occasion, it is also alleged that he stole GH? 600.00 from the residence of the same pastor.

It is alleged that he went to the Dedeso Pentecost Mission House where he made away with GH?600.00, but during his second attempt on Sunday, 20th December, he was seen by the pastor’s wife.

As the pastor’s wife raised the alarm, Kietey took to his heels and was given a chase by members of the community who arrested him and sent him to Mr Daniel Aklasu, assembly member for Dedesawirako Electoral Area.

However, Pastor Eugene Tettey Doudu of the Dedeso Pentecost, when contacted confirmed the matter, but declined to comment.
