E/R: Hunter nabbed for shooting farmer, 40

Police in the Eastern region are investigating the shooting of a 40-year-old farmer who was allegedly mistaken for an animal by a hunter.

The 72-old-hunter shot the farmer while hunting at Anum in the Asuogyaman district. The suspect Kwabena Adu reported himself to the Police after the incident.

The Eastern regional Police Public relations officer Gideon Boateng who confirmed the incident to Starr News said the farmer will also be charged for possessing an unlicensed gun.

“It’s a case of causing harm and possessing firearm without authority. The suspect said he saw some plants shaking at his direction at a distance so he shot at it,” he said.
