Alabaster praise 2015 attracts bigger crowd

The Assemblies of God Church, Tema New Town branch, has organised an annual concert dubbed: “Alabaster Praise Dream,” to inspire and entertain its congregation.

A statement copied to the GNA noted that the annual concert, organised by Divine Instruments (DI) saw different Gospel artistes perform including Ohemaa Mercy and Jewels of Praise with Ohemaa Mercy leading the congregation through non-stop renditions of popular worship tunes.

The statement said the songstress’ praise jam session saw the crowd singing out loud, jumping and dancing to her popular tunes like ‘Wo fri mo’, ‘Wo beye kese’ and others.

Ms Hannah Doughan, President of Divine Instruments said the ministry came up with the concert as an avenue to reach out to the youth through music, worship, choreography and a host of voluntary social projects.

“Within six years, Divine Instruments has made inroads by bringing seasoned minsters like Cecilia Marfo, Joe Mettle, Diana Hopson, Francis Amo; Vine Praise, Gifty Osei, Jim Emmit Konadu, De Joe and the Levitical Order to lead hundreds of worshipers to the throne room of God during the concert”, she said.

Ms Doughan said the ministry appreciates the support received from Reverend Kwadwo Nissi Diafo, Resident Pastor and Tema District Pastor of the Assemblies of God Church; the church’s board, church members and various groups who have helped sustain the concert till date.

Paa Kwesi Forson, a member of the Planning Committee and a Music Director of DI urged fans of the group to look forward to the eighth edition of the concert in 2016.

Mrs Adwoa Konadu, a resident of Tema and Patron of the programme said: “For the past six years, I always make it a point to experience Alabaster Praise and this year’s edition was an exciting moment for me as artists on the bill ministered powerfully.
