Cantonments robbery: ‘2016 has begun well for me’

The now famous taxi driver who botched the robbery attempt on a Koala sales girl at Cantonments has expressed gratitude to God for the fortune that has come his way after the heroic act.

According to the father of five, God has listened to his prayers and began the year well with him.

The brave driver who has been promised a house by President John Mahama told Fiifi Banson on Kasapa FM Tuesday that his wife and children are overwhelmed by the massive show of love by Ghanaians.

“God has been good to me and my wife, I have five children; four boys and a girl and so we are extremely excited about what is happening.

“Koala is buying me a new car and government has asked me to choose a location of my choice for the house, we are grateful to God. We can’t take the glory alone, we give it to God. My friends have also been very helpful,” he stated.

The robbers shot the girl whom they thought was on her way to deposit the previous day’s sales at the bank. While bolting, the driver rammed into the motorbike of the thieves, forcing them into a nearby drain.

An armed soldier who chanced on the scene intervened to effect the arrest of the duo, who were still shooting in their injured state.
