Another inferno in Kumasi

But for the timely intervention of officers of the Ghana National Fire Service, a devastating damage would have been caused by another inferno in the Ashanti Regional capital of Kumasi.

Even before it was brought under control, the fire had razed down over 20 wooden structures at Dagomba Line, a base in Kumasi.

The structures serve as a sleeping and business place for some residents, our correspondent says.

TV3’s Ibrahim Abubakar reported on Saturday that affected victims were not successful in attempts to salvage their belongings.

The fire lasted for close to one hour before it was put out.

Its cause is yet to be known.
