Fire destroys properties at Takoradi Kokompe

Fire yesterday gutted a portion of the light industrial area (kokompe) in Takoradi in the Western Region destroying four cars and several structures with no deaths recorded.

The Takoradi Kokompe area is the center for many vocational and technical training especially on auto mobile with mechanics, spares parts dealers and other artisans in the metropolis trading in the area.

It is the second time the area, which is congested with lots of activities, had been gutted by fire with the cause of the blaze yet to be established.

The timely intervention of personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) curtailed the excessive damage that would have been caused.
