Owusu Addo meets GJA members in Bolga

Bolgatanga, Aug. 19, GNA – Mr Yaw Owusu Addo, one of the candidates contesting the Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) presidency, on Monday said his vision for the association is to redeem its image. He said one cardinal phenomenon that affects the reputation of Journalists in the country is ”the invasion by impostors who do not in anyway consider the effects of their actions and inactions on the profession”.

Mr Addo was addressing members of the GJA in the Upper East Region in Bolgatanga.

He said his administration would ensure a routine and affordable upgrading of the skill of Journalists through acquisition of managerial skill training in collaboration with Ghana Institute of Management and Administration (GIMPA) and other institutions abroad. Mr Addo appealed to media practitioners to avoid attacks and actions that tended to undermine their integrity as well as the profession. 19 Aug. 03
