Over 1000 birds,400 shops burnt in K’si Central Market fire

About 400 shops and over thousand live birds have been burnt in a massive fire that engulfed the Kumasi Central market in the Ashanti region Wednesday night.

According to Starr News’ Isaac Bediako Justice, the fire which started around 8:30 pm sprang from a portion of the marked popularly known as Bode.

It is unclear what caused the fire.

The yam sellers portion of the market was the most affected.

Officials of the fire service are still battling the flame while the affected market women have started counting their losses amidst wailing at the scene.
