People of Binaba celebrate Yong Festival

The Chief and people of the Binaba Traditional Area have celebrated the Yong festival to rekindle the cultural values of their forefathers.

The yearly festival was organized on the theme: “Yong, consolidating our traditional values and cultures”

Naaba Akulburi Appiah lV , Chief of the area, said it was time the youth embraced the cultural values of the area instead of adopting western culture.

He entreated them to stop fighting one another and channel their energies towards the growth and development of the area.

He also called on the Member of Parliament for the area, Mr Cletus Apul Avoka, to assist in the construction of the Tilli-Binaba road which is currently in a deplorable state.

Mr Avoka assured the chief of contacting the appropriate authorities to ensure that the stated road is given on contract.
