US surgeons, gynaecologists for medical outreach in Yendi

US surgeons and gynaecologists would from January 1- January 11, 2016, organise a medical outreach at Yendi Hospital in the Northern Region.

The exercise being done by the Hospital Management in collaboration with the Yendi Baptist church would handle cases such as hernia, thyroid, soft tissue masses, hysterectomy, breast masses and bowel surgery.

Reverend Emmanuel Kwabena Mustapha, Baptist Missionary incharge of the North Eastern Mission told journalists in Yendi at the weekend that the Ghana Baptist Convention and churches in Yendi in partnership with Care for Ghana, a non-governmental organisation mobilised medical personnel from the US for the exercise.

He said the medical team set the goal to help the hospital, two years.

Rev Mustapha announced that the Medical Team includes four doctors, 40 nurses and volunteers.

He said large quantity of medical equipment worth millions of dollars would be donated the hospital.
