Mahama accepts Transport Minister’s resignation

President John Mahama on Wednesday accepted the resignation of Mrs. Dzifa Aku Attivor as Minister for Transport.

Her resignation follows concerns raised over a contract to spray and brand 116 new buses procured by government to improve transportation in the country’s major cities?.

Over a week now, the media landscape has been inundated with news bothering on the branding of the yet to be introduced Bus Rapid Transport in the capital.

The situation compelled Mr Julius Debrah, Chief of Staff to write to the Attorney General and Minister of Justice to investigate the circumstances that led to the alleged spending of GHC3.6 million Cedis on the project.

Although the report is yet to be made public, her resignation is believed to be in connection with that issue.
