Christmas Travel: Long Queue at Tudu Station

There are long queues at the Tudu Bus terminal as Ghanaians prepare to travel to their hometowns to mark the Christmas festivities, a visit by GNA to the Tudu Metro Bus Transport station has shown.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Francis Tanu, Inspector of Metro Mass Transport at the station said there is a shortage of buses as most had broken down.

He said this year the numbers of commuters travelling were many and most of them are stranded at the station waiting for buses.

Mr Francis Deladem Kuagbela, a traveller to Ho expressed worry about the long hours he had spent at the Station before getting a bus.

“I got to the Station at 8:00am and was told that three buses had already left and I am waiting for the fourth bus and as at now it is 10:00am,” he said.

Miss Paulina Owusu, a traveller to Somanya, said getting a bus had been difficult this morning as the number of people travelling kept growing.

She expressed the hope that she will get a bus early to get to her destination.

Mr Ike Frimpong also a traveller to Somanya wished all travelers mercies as he travels to his hometown to celebrate the Yuletide with his family.

Some drivers at the station assured commuters of cautious and safe driving to their various destinations for them to be able to reunite with their families.

Meanwhile, at the Station the Ghana News Agency spotted Vodafone Ghana Stand running a promotion, “Akwantu Ay3 Free” and in our quest to find out more GNA spoke to Mr Theo Agbako, Marketing Manager of Mid to add Value Segment (Vodafone).

He said Vodafone as a form of rewarding loyal customers is paying the bus fares for them to travel to their various destinations by giving them the money through Vodafone cash.

Mr Kuagebela who had benefited from the promotion expressed joy and happiness for wonderful the package.
