Two jailed 1o years each over hard drugs

The Juaso Circuit Court, presided over by Mr. Fredrick Tetteh, has sentenced two men caught with cannabis to 10 years imprisonment each.

Kofi Okyere, unemployed and Kwame Addo, a farmer, pleaded guilty to the charge of possessing narcotic drug without authority

Police Chief Inspector Leo Boateng told the court that Okyere was found carrying on him dried leaves that turned out to be cannabis on a commercial vehicle and he was arrested and handed over to the police.

During interrogation, he mentioned Addo, a farmer at Wioso in the Asante-Akim North District as the source of supply of the psychoactive drug.

The prosecution said the police, based on this information, raided the house of Addo, where they uncovered large quantity of the substance concealed in two polythene bags in his room.
