The assembly, in consultation with the Ministry of Health, has completed the construction of a female ward abandoned eight years ago. Mr John Kwesi Agyabeng, District Chief Executive for Agona, said this when he inspected two nurses’ quarters under construction at the Agona Swedru Government Hospital on Thursday.

He said the assembly has bought a flat costing 70 million cedis from the Social Security and National Insurance Trust for nurses in the district.

He said Ghana government and the European Union as well as the Agona District Assembly have jointly constructed a clinic and provided nurses quarters at Otenkorang near Agona Nyakrom.
