Northern Region GJA retains Executive

Tamale, August 13, GNA- At the close of nominations on Tuesday, all but one of the Northern Regional Executive of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) were returned unopposed to serve another two-year term.

Mr Alhassan Zakaria, Regional Editor of the “Daily Graphic”, who was the only new member among the executives, was elected as the Regional Secretary by consensus.

Mr. Alhassan Imoru, Associate Editor of the “Northern Advocate”, Chairman, Mr, Abdallah Kassim, Executive Director of the Rural Media Network (RUMNET), Vice-Chairman, Mr Alex Ibrahim, Public Relations Officer of the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), Assistant Secretary and Mr Dan Adane, Regional Photographer of the “Daily Graphic”, Treasurer.

Mr Edward Ameyibor, General Manager of “Diamond FM” Radio Station who was the Regional Elections Officer, declared the results in Tamale on Wednesday.
