Amoako Baah: Mahama brings credibility to PNC

Political scientist Dr Amoako Baah has said the election of Dr. Edward Mahama as the flagbearer of the People’s National Convention (PNC) is in the right direction.

According to him, Dr. Mahama brings seriousness and credibility to the PNC.

Speaking to Ekow Mensah-Shalders Monday December 14, 2015 on the Executive Breakfast Show on Class 91.3 FM, he said the former flagbearer, Hassan Ayariga, in the 2012 election was “simply there for being there sake”.

On Dr. Ayariga’s threat to leave the party, Dr. Amoako Baah wondered what talent he had demonstrated as PNC flagbearer.

In his words, “if you are flagbearer in a party and you lose and you want to leave the party then you should not be in the party.”

Dr. Amoako Baah said Dr. Ayariga’s threat means he does not accept the rules of engagement of the party. “Does he believe he should win anytime he runs? And now that somebody has beaten him, he is threatening to leave. He should leave. It means he is not good for the party,” he added.

The political scientist said Dr. Edward Mahama shows seriousness and maturity but whether voters are going to respond to him in kind is a different matter.
