Police destroy 85 bags of narcotic drugs in Sunyani

The Sunyani Divisional Police Command on Friday burnt at the Sunyani Land Fill Site 85 bags of narcotic drugs which had been kept in the Police Store Room for more than 20 years.

The action followed a court order by the Sunyani Magistrate Court “B” for the disposal of the illegal drugs confiscated during a swoop in the Sunyani Municipality.

It was under the joint supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Franklin Kramo, Sunyani Divisional Police Commander, and Mr. Owusu Kokor the Sunyani Municipal Environmental Health Officer

DSP Kramo said no arrest was made during the intermittent police swoops, because the drug dealers abandoned the products and escaped into the bush.
