AMA Launches “Operation Let the Traffic Flow”

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) in collaboration with the Ghana Police Service have launched “Operation Let the Traffic Flow” to ease the traffic congestion in the Central Business District.

The operation, which was an initiative of the AMA would commence on Monday 14, December.

Numo Blafo Omeatu III, the Public Relations Officer of the AMA, who made this known, urged all motorist and pedestrians to respect all directives by the Police to ensure that the exercise becomes successful.

He said Police personnel would also be located at all traffic inter-sections and other areas to ensure safety for motorists, pedestrians and traders.

“Traders are also being reminded that ‘Don’t Cross the Red Line’” policy by the AMA is still in force and warned them not to be seen trading on the pavements and unapproved areas, he said.

Numo Blafo also advised drivers to avoid parking indiscriminately as the Assembly’s towing teams would be out in full force to tow away all vehicles parked wrongly to ensure safety on the road.
