Ghanaians urged to develop mutual relationship with God

President John Dramani Mahama on Sunday asked Ghanaians to develop mutual relationship with God for individual success and national progress.

According to the President, without God the country and her people would fail in all aspects of development.

President Mahama gave the advice in a speech read on his behalf at the inauguration of the Mid-North Ghana Conference (MNGC) of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church at Techiman in the Brong-Ahafo Region.

He emphasised that with God in control little sacrifices and contributions that would be made by individuals and Ghanaians in general would facilitate socio-economic development.

President Mahama commended the SDA church for its tremendous contributions to nation building and emphasised in particular that its immense support in the areas of health and education could not be overemphasised.

“I have followed with interest, the contributions of the SDA church towards the development of our nation Ghana and global development as a whole”, President Mahama stated.

Mrs Barbara Serwaa Asamoah, the Deputy Minister of Lands and Forestry, who read the President’s address, challenged members of the SDA church to contribute significantly towards the growth and development of the conference.

Pastor Dr Paul Amo Kyeremeh, the President of the MNGC, said the Conference had a membership of 25,179 as at October this year.

He said works on the construction of an ultra modern office complex for the Conference is steadily progressing at Forikrom in the Techiman Municipality and appealed to members of the Church, especially those abroad to support.

Pastor Kyeremeh said the Conference in collaboration with the Women’s Ministry Department of the Church had acquired bakery facility at Atebubu and would be inaugurated in January 2016.

The MNGC was carved out of the Mid-West Ghana Conference (MGC) by an Executive Committee Action of the MGC in 2013.
