Managing Editor of the Al Hajj Newspaper, Alhaji Bature Iddrisu has revealed that former first Lady and founder of the National Democratic Party (NDP) Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, is hatching a malicious plan against her own daughter, Dr Zanetor Rawlings to see her being defeated in the upcoming 2016 parliamentary elections.
According to him, Nana Konadu feels betrayed and disappointed that Dr Zaneto, who is the ruling party’s parliamentary candidate for Klortey Korle, ditched her (Konadu)’s NDP and rather opted to run on the ticket of the NDC.
Dr Zanetor, the first daughter of the former first family who burst onto the political scene few months ago, showed her political strength when she beat the incumbent Member of Parliament for the area, Nii Armah Ashittey in the NDC’s recently held parliamentary primaries.
Speaking on Kasapa FM, Thursday, Alhaji Bature Iddrisu stated that Nana Konadu, who is incensed by the turn of events has vowed to do everything possible to scuttle the chances of Dr Zanetor Rawlings.
“In recent times Nana Konadu has adopted a strategy of bashing the government and unjustifiably accusing it of so many alleged wrongs. The motive for the attacks is to court public anger against Dr Zaneto such that NDC supporters will vote against her. Fiifi, you don’t need a soothsayer to tell you that Nana Konadu is angry. If you’ll recall when she formed the NDP, she was going round with her children including Zanetor, now she abandons Nana Konadu and contests on the ticket of another party. It is strange that a mother can do such a thing to her own biological daughter, but anything can happen.”
