48 teachers acquire mathematical skills

Forty eight teachers have benefited from mathematics skills training programme to upgrade their skills and improve their teaching in mathematics in the Wa West District of the Upper West Region.

The training was sponsored by the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) and was facilitated by NOVAN Education.

The training forms part of an initiative to build Africa’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) profile.

The participants were introduced to the use of computer based programmes and microsoft mathematics to enhance lesson delivery.

As part of the five-day programme, the teachers were made to demonstrate the techniques acquired after the training.

The teachers were drawn from the nine circuits in the district by the District Education Directorate.
