Nine remanded over alleged cocaine peddling

The Obuasi Magistrate Court has remanded into prison custody nine persons arrested by the police over alleged distribution and sale of illicit drugs.

They are Peter Boateng, Godwin Asuming, Ibrahim Fuseini, Samuel Asuming, Kamal Yussif, Nana Kwantwi, Francis Osei, Abdul Moro and Isaac Avasong.

Their pleas were not taken and they would make their next appearance on Thursday, December 3.

The police swooped on them at Obuasi-Abankrom, seizing large quantity of yellowish powdered substance suspected to be cocaine on Tuesday, November 24.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ebenezer Diabene, told the court presided over by Mr. Michael Ampadu, that scissors and pipes used to inhale the stuff were also recovered.
