Entrepreneur commends Nyaho Medical Centre

Mrs Kate Quartey-Papafio, an entrepreneur, has commended management of Nyaho Medical Centre for the prompt delivery of service and provision of quality health care.

Mrs Quartey-Papafio made the commendation in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Accra at the 45th anniversary and launch of Dr Kwame Nyaho Tamaklo Memorial Health Symposium.

The symposium was on the theme: “The Role of Private Health Institutions in the development of Ghana.

Mrs Quartey-Papafio urged Ghanaians to make use of private hospitals instead of travelling abroad for medical treatment whereas they can get the desired service in the country.

She said this would contribute to the country’s development agenda in promoting ‘Made in Ghana Service’ as well as boost the country’s local industries.

Mrs Quartey-Papafio said customer care is critical to the survival of any organisation, and that health institutions must organised in-service training for its staff to keep abreast with effective customer care.

She said Ghanaians should be ready to pay for quality service delivery because medical service in the private sector is no longer a social enterprise as it comes with huge cost in terms of equipment and other logistics.

Mrs Quartey-Papafio urged management of the hospital to expand the frontiers of its business to other regions to help facilitate the delivery of health service.

She said the private sector, as the engine of growth, complemented government’s efforts in the transformation and development of the country.

Mrs Quartey-Papafio also called for public private partnership in the health sector to improve the health industry.
