Court remands man for impregnating 15-year-old JSS girl

Berekum (B/A), Aug. 8, GNA – The Berekum Circuit Court in Brong Ahafo has remanded Stephen Kyeremeh, a 30-year-old Businessman from Jamdede, near Berekum, in custody for two weeks for allegedly defiling and impregnating a 15-year-old Junior Secondary School student. Kyeremeh, popularly called “J.K.”, pleaded guilty with the explanation that he was ready to marry the girl.

The Prosecution said the accused met and proposed love to the victim in Berekum sometime in January and they started an amorous relationship.

It said after sometime, the girl fell ill and was taken to hospital where the pregnancy was discovered and she mentioned Kyeremah as the one responsible.

The court heard that during interrogations, the accused indicated his preparedness to marry the girl, who was about six months pregnant.
