Two corporate bodies on Wednesday donated cash and other items to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture towards the Farmers Day celebration which is scheduled for 4th December in Bolgatanga in the Upper East region.

The companies are Dizengoff Ghana Limited and Obuoba Group of Companies.

Mrs Elaine Arthur, Public Relations Manager of Dizengof Ghana, presented one hector drip irrigation kit worth GH¢17, 000.00, and a cash donation of GH¢5,000.00.

Mr John Klokpa, General Manager of Obuoba Group, pledged airtime worth GH¢30,000.00 plus 35 packets of roofing sheets to be distributed to farmers who would receive awards from the Eastern Region.

He said the five packets each of the roofing sheets are to be distributed to best farmers in Kwahu West, Kwahu South, Kwahu East, Afram Plains North and South, MOFA regional office in Koforidua and Head office in Accra.

Dr Kwame Amezah, acting Director of MOFA, expressed appreciation to the two companies for their kind gesture and appealed to other companies to emulate them.

He said Dizengoff Ghana’s donation of irrigation drip to teach the best farmer how to carry out deep irrigation would enable the winner to do continuous farming.
