George Somiah withdraws from Jomoro NDC race

Mr George William Somiah, one of the six candidates contesting the Jomoro NDC Parliamentary primaries scheduled for November 21 has withdrawn his candidature from the race.

The constituency Secretary of the Party, Mr James B. Benson, made this known in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Half Assini on Sunday.

According to him, Mr Somiah submitted his withdrawal letter to the Party Office on Friday November 13, 2015.

Mr Somiah stated in his letter that his withdrawal was “personal and wished those still in the race good-luck”.

He said the Party has since relayed the information to the Regional Party executives for onward submission to the Party Headquarters in Accra, for necessary action.

The Constituency Secretary said Mr Somiah therefore forfeits his filling fee of Gh?1,000.00.

According to Mr Benson, five candidates in the race are Mr Thomas Elleam Yankey from Nawulley, Mr Leo Kofi Amenlemah Armah, Jaway, Mr Henry Woku Anlimah, Kabenlah-Suazo, Mr Francis Kwaidoo Ackatiah, Ekpu and Mr Samuel Ndah Blay Armah, Kengen.
