Kwame Danso gets new market

Kajaji-Nkomi (B/A), Aug 6, GNA- Nana Kwadwo Seinti, Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, on Tuesday inaugurated a community market valued at 338 million cedis at Kajaji in Sene District of Brong Ahafo.

The market, which was financed by the government, Agricultural Sub-Sector Improvement Programme (ASSIP) and the Village Infrastructure Project (VIP), has 20 stores, 80 stalls, two open sheds, five warehouses, a 10-seat KVIP and bathrooms and urinals.

The Regional Minister advised the people to patronize the facility and maintain sound sanitation practices.

He deplored the behaviour of some chiefs and opinion leaders in the district who to make “unnecessary and unjustifiable” demands on contractors working on projects.

Nana Seinti said that if a chief or anyone has a genuine demand in the form of compensation from any road contractor that could be channelled through the Regional Coordinating Council.

Nana Kwabena Effeda II, Omanhene of Nkomi, expressed appreciation to the government and pledged the support of the people for the future expansion of the market and the execution of other projects initiated by either the government, the district assembly or any funding agency.

Nana Effeda appealed to the government to rehabilitate the feeder roads in the area to facilitate the movement and marketing of the farm produce.
