No Ghanaian involved in Paris attacks

Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Ministry has disclosed that no Ghanaian has been reported dead or injured in the gun and bomb attacks in Paris, France on Friday.

The French authorities, families and foreign ministries across the globe have almost completed the heart-wrenching process of identifying the victims killed in Friday’s Paris attacks. Of the 129 confirmed dead, at least 25 were foreign nationals.

Countries that have confirmed Paris attack victims include Spain, Belgium, Chile, Germany, UK, Mexico, Algeria, Romania, Portugal, Tunisia, Austria and Italy.

In a twitter message, Foreign Affairs Minister Hannah Tetteh said government is monitoring developments in France to ensure the safety of Ghanaians living in that country.

“The attacks on the Bataclan Concert Hall & other locations in Paris are horrific & needless acts of violence we all must condemn.

“Our Mission in Paris informs us that as at now they have no information about any Ghanaians having been victims of Friday’s attacks,” the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya tweeted on Saturday.
