WAAF partners City Of Refuge to organize health screening

West Africa AIDS Foundation (WAAF), a non-governmental organization, on November 13, 2015, partnered City of Refuge Ministries to organize free health screening and health education to the community members in Doryumu- Shai Hills in Tema.

Mr Emmanuel Odion Omorefe, Coordinator at City of Refuge Ministries educated the community members on relevant health topics including personal hygiene, the need to take prescribed medicine and attending regular medical check-ups to ensure healthy living.

He urged the people to engage in day-to-day activities that will ensure proper sanitation in their households to prevent any infectious or communicable diseases.

Mr Gideon Adjaka, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at WAAF also highlighted on the need for people to constantly visit healthcare centres to check for their HIV status.

West Africa AIDS Foundation Team members also provided free health screening and testing for the community members who participated.

West Africa AIDS Foundation’s mission is to help battle the spread of HIV/AIDS and mitigate its effect on communities by providing care and support centres and developing and implementing pragmatic intervention programme.
