Murdered UPSA student received death threats – Brother

Brother of the third-year Banking and Finance student of the University of Professional Studies (UPSA), who was killed by her boyfriend has said her sister received death threats prior to her murder.

“Recently there was a threat, so, we reported to the police station about some two weeks ago,” he told journalists.

According to him, there have been quarrels between the deceased and her lover in past weeks.

The lady is reported to have been stabbed several times by her boyfriend, who confronted her on suspicions of cheating on him.

The incident occurred in Madina early Thursday morning after the boyfriend went to the lady’s hostel. The boyfriend’s suicide attempt after killing the girl got botched.

The pair are said to have been dating for the past five years. Dr. Godwin Attoh, the Medical administrator at Pentecost Hospital explained that the man and the young lady were both rushed to his hospital with serious injuries. The suspect is being treated at the health post.

The police have visited the crime scene and are investigating the homicide.
