Mahama is incompetent – Konadu Rawlings

The current socio-economic challenges facing Ghana have been attributed to lack of a good manager to steer the affairs of the country.

The founder and leader of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, made this observation when she spoke to Daily Guide in Ho, the Volta Regional capital, recently.

Despite the many claims by Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama, that he had led the country to develop significantly, the former first lady believes otherwise. As far as she was concerned, the need for a good and competent manager of the country had become a basic necessity. “We need to have that good manager,” she emphasized.

Mrs. Rawlings, who believes that Ghana has veered off the path of integrity, freedom, development and progress noted, “We (Ghana) need to go back to basics to get a good manager to manage our economy.” For her, lack of a competent leader is the real problem of Ghana and the only way to redeem the country is a change of leadership.

She noted that irrespective of what others think about the current managers of the economy, the fact still remained that Ghana is having some leadership problems.

Nana Konadu, who lamented how the energy crisis and other challenges confronting the country were negatively affecting her life and majority of Ghanaians, dreamt of a day when all that would come to an end.

She asserted, “My dream is to see Ghana change from the difficulties it is going through at the moment. Businesses are folding up; people are being thrown out of jobs; salaries are not being paid; light on and off; in fact, for the past four days I haven’t had light where I am.”

She added that “Water is not running through our taps, having to buy water every day from tankers when the taps should be running. Permanent bills being loaded onto what we are paying already in terms of water, electricity, petrol and all these things.”
