Suspected phone snatcher burnt to death

Some residents of Asawase a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti region have burnt a suspected phone snatcher to death.

The deceased, a young man believed to be in his twenties is said to have snatched a mobile phone belonging to a resident.

The residents arrested him, beat him mercilessly and burnt him to death Friday dawn.

An eyewitness who spoke to Starr News said the deceased was immediately burnt to death without finding out if he actually stole the phone.

“The guy was suspected to be a thief and he was caught around 2: 30 and 3 am and they said he had snatched someone’s phone and then they burnt him to death”.

Meanwhile, Police in the area have begun investigations into the incident.
