Nzemas urged to contribute towards education fund.

Half Assini (W/R) Aug. 2 – GNA- Nana Chiku Anyimiah, Presiding member of the Jomoro district assembly on Thursday called on all Nzemas living at home and abroad to contribute their quota towards the 80-billion cedi Kwame Nkrumah Endowment Trust Fund.

Nana Ayimiah made the appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Half Assini.

He said the trust fund, is meant to support and offer scholarships to the youth from the Nzema area, to enable them to pursue higher education.

He said education within the area, had suffered a lot of setbacks due to financial constraints and the fund is meant to remedy the situation. The presiding member said under the scheme, all chiefs in the area are expected to contribute 200,000 cedis, while the Nzema East and Jomoro district assemblies would also contribute 20 million cedis each in support of the fund.

He said Nzema West would also contribute 10 million cedis towards the fund.
