ADB releases C500m to support cassava farmers

Agona Swedru, Aug 1, GNA – The Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) has voted 500 million cedis to assist Ayensu Cassava Farmers Association (ACFA) in the three districts of the Central Region.

The districts are Agona, Awutu-Effutu-Senya and Gomoa.

Mr Annorba Sarpier, Manager of the Agona Swedru branch of the bank, said this at a meeting with national and district executive officers of Ayensu Cassava Farmers Association at Swedru.

He said a similar package had been designed for cassava farmers under the President’s Special Initiative by the bank in the Ga, Suhum-Kraboa-Coaltar and West Akim Districts.

Mr Sarpier said the package followed an appeal by the national and district executives of the association and that the Ayensu Starch Company would be the guarantor for the farmers
