Ghana tertiary awards fixed for Nov. 6

The stage is set for this year’s Ghana Tertiary Awards(GTA), scheduled for November 6 at the National Theatre , Richmond Amofa-Sarpong, CEO of Youth Web Ghana, organizers of the scheme has confirmed.

Coming on the heels of a successful maiden edition, the Award scheme sought to reward efforts of students whose lives have impacted society positively.
The Ghana Tertiary Awards is the Official Awards Ceremony for all Tertiary Institution organized by Youth Web Ghana.

At a press conference to announce nominees for this Year’s event at its Haatso office in Accra on Monday, Amofah Sarpong pointed out that the scheme among other things sought to equip students with leadership principles, values and ethical boundaries that will enable them handle pressures when severely challenged.

He added that “We are using this Awards platform to talk to nominees and students in general to take leadership positions right from school or community or parliament or hold international roles to boost the current quota.

“We are also doing this to explore the understanding of entrepreneurship and Identify factors and resources which are useful in the undertaking initiatives and entrepreneurial activities by students.”

Students from the various tertiary institutions will vie for honours in categories like student of the year, 2015, Most Influential student in Music, model,(male and female), Emceeing , Student blogger/writer and Most Influential Student in Entrepreneurship.

Other categories are Most Influential Student –Beauty Queen, TV and Radio presenter(Male/Female), Fashion designing, SRC president, Tertiary TV, Film making, model, engineering, event house, acting etc.

The event, which is the official Awards ceremony for all tertiary institutions in Ghana is being sponsored by Indomie Ghana, Natural Day Spa, Boom Entertainment, Ultimate Modeling Agency, Live fm and Natural Day Spa.

An Academy comprising high profile personalities will be in charge of which student wins what in the various categories as.

Fans of nominees will also have the luxury of texting S2 to short code 1762 to all networks, X1 to 1762 to all networks, P3 to short code 1762 on all networks and D6 to 1762 on all networks. etc.
