Ablekuma West MP supports Shiabu fish mongers

Mrs Ursula Owusu Ekuful, Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma West Constituency has donated cash to fish mongers of the Shiabu Tsemuenaa after the community suffered heavy losses through the fire that razed their warehouse.

The legislator also presented undisclosed amounts of cash to each of the fish mongers in addition GH? 1000.00 to the fishing community to buy equipment to aid their business operations.

Mrs Ekuful said she decided to assist them after she heard of the plight of her constituents and felt they required urgent help to resuscitate their operations.

The community members called on the MP to help them address critical challenges facing the area, including poor sanitation, causing sicknesses and its related issues.

The legislator pledged to support the community but advised them to avoid indiscriminate disposal of refuse, saying that, such actions have triggered the high rate of cholera and malaria cases in the constituency.

Mrs Joyce Allotey, a beneficiary, who spoke on behalf of the fish mongers expressed gratitude to the MP for the quick response to their plight.

“We are very impressed by your action and therefore pledge our unflinching support for you in the forthcoming elections”, she said.
