15 presidential staffers injured in near-fatal accident

Fifteen presidential staffers heading to the State House were involved in a near-fatal accident at the Ako Adjei Interchange in Accra, Thursday.

A DAF truck rammed into the bus of the staffers at the rear and almost fell from the interchange, but ended up leaning against the pillars.

The Cantonments Police Station confirmed the motor crash to Starr News and impounded the vehicles for investigations into the incident.

The driver of the vehicle, whose name is not yet known, told the police in a statement he had a brake failure and had to hit the Flagstaff House bus to park.

“It was the pillar which saved the bus from falling,” an eyewitness said.

The 15 staffers sustained minor injuries and are receiving treatment at the hospital.
