The resigned former moderator of the Presbyterian Church Rev. Dr Yaw Frempong Manso has described as absolute lies claims by the leadership of the church in Ghana that they attempted talking him out of resignation.
Dr. Frempong Manso resigned from the Presby church Thursday following the decision of the Ghana church to sever ties with the pro-homosexual Presbyterian Church of the United States of America.
Rev. Dr. Manso, who works with the US branch of the Church, in a statement said the Church in Ghana failed to grant him audience before asking him to return home.
“I was not given a hearing before they took the decision to recall me. I think it is disrespectful to my person and ministry,” he said.
“I cannot serve two masters so I will stay here, do the work of God and win more souls for Christ.”
The leadership of the Presby in Ghana has, however, told the media that they invited the former moderator before a decision was made on him.
But speaking to Accra-based Citi FM Thursday, Dr. Frempong Manso described the claims as blatant lies.
“I will say it’s a total lie. If they have taken that decision, I have never heard about it. Nobody has called me personally on phone to speak to me about this matter.
“Nobody has written to me on this matter, not through email, telephone or anything,” he said.
