Maiden Young Imam contest held in Accra

Young Imam, a sermon contest for the search of the country’s most eligible young religious leader, as part of Eid Al-Adha celebration, was held at the Ahlussuna Wal Jama’a conference hall in Nima.

The show, reserved for Muslim kids aged between 9 and 15, was won by 15-year-old Nuratu Musah. The competitors gave sermons to an audience in either English, Hausa or Twi languages.

The competition provided the children the opportunity to showcase their talents and to test their religious knowledge.

The 10 finalists, both boys and girls, were chosen among 300 contestants who spoke on wide range of issues including internet fraud, school drop-out, teenage pregnancy, smoking etc.

The winner, Nuratu Musah, was presented a cheque of GHC 500.00, souvenirs, certificate and books sponsored by Firdaus social service, Icodehs Ansaar international, Ihsan Social Service and Sfx Studios. The competition was organised by Nima Cares Foundation.
