Bomiri Draws Up Development Programme

Bomiri (Brong Ahafo), 24 Oct. The people of Bomiri in the Nkoranza district have drawn-up a three-year development programme estimated at 65 million cedis. It would involve the construction of a drainage system and an electrification project to enhance the economic and social activities of the people. Mr Abiam Danso, a member of the area’s unit committee, told the GNA at Bomiri that the people are paying special contributions of 10,000 cedis a man and 5,000 cedis a woman towards the programme. According to him, non-resident citizens are paying 15,000 cedis a man and 10,000 cedis a woman. Fund raising activities would be organised to support the programme. Meanwhile, the people have purchased 50 poles worth about 10 million cedis for the start of the electrification project while proceeds from the community’s five hectare maize farm would be used to support the drainage system.
