Farmer jailed 10 years for defilement

The Juaso Circuit Court has sentenced a farmer to 10 years’ imprisonment for defiling a minor at Aboaboso, a farming community in the Asante-Akim South District.

Ali Musah, who sexually abused the 13-year-old victim on August 15, pleaded not guilty.

Police Detective, Inspector Thomas Obuor told the court, presided over by Mr Fredrick Tetteh, that both the convict and the girl lived in the same village.

He said the victim had gone to collect some vegetables from the parents’ farm, just about 20 metres away from the house of the convict, when he engaged her in a conversation, lured her to his room and defiled her.

The victim, after she regained her freedom, reported the incident to her parents, who made a report to the police.
