Ghana Society to hold Kente Dinner in UK

The Ghana society, UK is to hold the annual prestigious Kente fundraising and dinner dance on November 7 at porchester Hall, Westbourne Park, London.

The annual event is aimed at showcasing the rich kente fabric of Ghana.

This year’s fundraising is in aid of Breast and Prostate cancer care in Ghana.

The event would feature cultural displays, fashion shows, live band and live Pas with Kente give-aways.

Ms Maria Lovell, the Director of Ghana society, UK organisers of the event says they promote Ghana’s heritage in the Diaspora.

It also promotes Ghana as a tourist destination through social events such as Miss Tourism Ghana UK and Ghana home coming carnival.

Ghana Society was founded in 2006 in association with Ghanaian students at the University of Bedfordshire to promote Ghanaian arts and culture in particular through the medium of carnival.

The group also aimed to involve the Youth in activities, which would teach and encourage them to embrace their culture with pride to empower them for the future.
