NPP should be voted back into power – NPP Man

Coaltar (E/R), July 29, GNA – Mr Emmanuel Dartey, NPP Chairman for Ayesuano Constituency, on Tuesday appealed to cocoa farmers to vote for the party in the 2004 general elections to continue with its good work in the agricultural sector.

“Retain the party in the next general elections to let the government continue with the free spraying of cocoa and coffee farms.”

Mr Dartey was addressing over 600 farmers drawn from 30 communities near Coaltar in the Suhum-Kraboa Coaltar District in the Eastern Region. Some of the communities toured included Dokorochiwa, Kofi Pare, Anum Apapam, Bepoase, Akwadum, Coaltar and Kwaboantah.

He asked party agents in the area to mobilise themselves to inform the people about developmental projects undertaken by the NPP government within its short period in office.

The MP, Mr Frank Okyere, said the NPP government should be commended for putting several developmental projects like schools, clinics, among others, in the offing within its two years’ in office.

He told the people that the 27-kilometre Coaltar road linking Adoagyiri to Owuram is under construction and when completed would help the farmers cart their cocoa and foodstuffs to the cities for sale.

Mr. Okyere said about 20 feeder roads and some bridges funded from his share of the Common Fund have been completed in some communities such as Akotuakrom, Mamakrom, Awereoso and a bridge at Anowah.

Wofa Kraboa, Vice-Chairman and also chief farmer of the area congratulated the NPP government for the cocoa spraying exercise.
