Take advantage of electricity to create employment- Nana Amihere.

Akoto (W/R) July 28, GNA – Nana Nyanzu Amihere V, Chief of Akoto in the Nzema East District, has appealed to the rich to establish cottage and small-scale industries in rural areas.

He said this would not only lead to the creation of employment for the youth but would also open up these areas for foreign investment. Nana Amihere was speaking at a forum organized to plan the development of the town and the creation of employment avenues to curb the high unemployment rate in the area.

“It is time for us to plan something for ourselves without waiting for the government to initiate everything for us,” he said. Nana Amihere said the rich could pool their resources to form cooperatives to qualify for assistance from the government and other institutions.

”Tourism potentials in the area remain untapped. I appeal to the District Assembly to develop the tourist’s sites in this area.”
